European Commission panicking following Trump’s tariff threat as ruthless feud intensifies
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has lashed out at US President Donald Trump’s latest threat to hike tariffs.
Leyen’s remarks came during a European Commission (EC) bilateral summit in Armenia on Tuesday.
Several leaders from the continent addressed European defence issues and the ongoing war in Iran at the summit.
During the summit, Leyen hit back at Trump, who threatened to raise tariffs on EU-made cars from 15 per cent to 25 per cent.
“A deal is a deal, and we have a deal. And the essence of this deal is prosperity, common rules, and reliability,” Leyen said.
