A 14-month-old boy named Dustin is in an induced coma at Brisbane Children’s Hospital after inhaling toxic gold dust used for cake decorating. The toddler became unresponsive when the dust mixed with moisture in his lungs, forming a paste that blocked his airways and required emergency surgery. The cake decorating supplier has removed the product from shelves while the family faces an uncertain recovery period, with a GoFundMe raising over $15,000 to support them.
