Government funds life-saving myeloma treatment | 7NEWS


The Australian government will now fund CAR-T cell treatment for myeloma patients, a revolutionary therapy that costs approximately $200,000 per patient. The decision follows a successful campaign by high-profile myeloma patients including sports broadcaster Sandy Roberts, former Collingwood AFL president Jeff Browne, and actor Sam Neill. Currently, the government-funded treatment will only be available as a last resort when all other treatments have failed, though advocates are lobbying for earlier intervention access.
