Police in the Northern Territory have charged 47-year-old Jefferson Lewis with the murder of five-year-old girl Kumanjayi Little Baby after her suspected abduction from a town camp in Alice Springs.

The little girl’s grandfather has issued a fresh plea for the community and politicians to respect this period of grief, and for families attending vigils to consider wearing pink, in memory of their little girl.
Northern Territory Police have also begun arresting those involved in looting Alice Springs businesses on the evening Jefferson Lewis was arrested, after releasing CCTV from the night.
