A 19-year-old French cafe worker on a working holiday visa was assaulted outside La Vallee cafe in Essendon on Anzac Day when a random woman slammed a tray of food into her face, leaving her with a broken tooth. The victim, Anaïs Poupon, has received overwhelming community support, including a local dentist offering free dental treatment. Police are investigating the incident as CCTV footage has been released to help identify the attacker.
