‘Will they show up?’: Concerns grow over the excitement of Republican midterm voters

Democratic strategist Jim Kessler has discussed growing enthusiasm among Democratic voters ahead of the midterm elections.

“The thing about the midterms is, it doesn’t mean they have to vote for a Democrat, it means they just don’t show up,” Mr Kessler told Sky News Australia.

“A lot of times, midterm elections are a turnout game, like who is more excited, who is showing up.

“Right now, Democrats are ahead by about five points, which would be enough, definitely, to retake the House.

“Nearly all Democrats are absolutely excited to vote, and only about two-thirds of Republicans are excited to vote.”
