James Comey indicted for threats to ‘take the life of and to inflict bodily harm’ on Trump


Acting US Attorney General Todd Blanche has revealed more details in the second indictment of former FBI director James Comey.

A grand jury in the Eastern District of North Carolina has returned an indictment against Mr Comey on two counts.

Mr Blanche revealed the first count was for May 15 of last year, where Mr Comey allegedly “knowingly and wilfully made a threat to take the life of and to inflict bodily harm” upon US President Donald Trump.

“Count two, same day, May 15th, 2025, that the defendant James Comey knowingly and wilfully transmitting an interstate commerce of communication that contained a threat to kill the President of the United States,” he said.

“Both of these counts carry a maximum term of imprisonment of 10 years.”
