ISIS brides reportedly book flights to Australia

Four ISIS brides and nine children have booked plane tickets back to Australia and hope to depart Damascus within days after earlier fleeing a Syrian camp, according to reports from the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age.

The cohort are all Australian citizens in what is their second attempt to return to Australia since February. The government has warned they will be met with the full force of the law if they land here, whilst the opposition says authorities should do whatever it takes to not accept them.

Labor Minister Tanya Plibersek said the government is not helping them return, but will apply Australian law if they make it to Australia’s borders.

“If people have broken the law overseas, they’ll face the full force of Australian law,” Ms Plibersek said. “We’ve got our security and intelligence agencies obviously gathering information on this cohort and the broader cohort to make sure that we know as much about them as we possibly can.” #repatriation #auspol #middleeast #flights #australia
