There have been chaotic scenes in Washington, DC after gunshots were heard at a gala dinner attended by the US president.
Donald Trump, his wife, and senior government officials were rushed out by the Secret Service, while hundreds of journalists and dignitaries took cover under tables.
The alleged shooter was quickly taken into custody, and authorities have been searching a house linked to him.
