A car crashed through a fence and carport at West Ryde before plummeting down a retaining wall and striking a block of flats, causing significant building damage. The driver escaped uninjured while the passenger sustained minor injuries. In a separate incident, two buses collided head-on at Glenwood on the Northwest T-Way after midnight, trapping both drivers in the wreckage with one pinned for hours before being hospitalised with minor injuries.
