‘Playing out the clock’: Iran’s endurance strategy delays US negotiations


The Foreign Desk Editor-in-Chief Lisa Daftari weighs in on the Iranian government’s strategy of endurance and what it could mean for future negotiations.

“I don’t believe a deal can be had with this regime,” Ms Daftari told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio.

“With regards to buying time, this is something that the regime does all the time.

“One of the … strategies of existence for 47 years for this regime has been just to survive, so for them, staying in the game, enduring a war … means victory.

“They won’t keep their promises.”
