‘A good day’ for supporters of freedom, democracy and human rights after Ayatollah’s death
Shadow Education Minister Julian Leeser says today is a “good day” for both Iranians and supporters of freedom, democracy and human rights after US-Israeli strikes in Iran killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
“This is a good day for the Iranian people, it’s a good day for everyone around the world who supports freedom, democracy, and human rights,” Mr Leeser told Sky News host Paul Murray.
“One of the world’s worst human rights abusers has been killed … as someone who represents the fourth largest Persian community in the country, can I say the Persians in Berowra are astonishingly brave.”
