‘Big implications for the regime’: Australia reacts to US claim of Ayatollah Khamenei’s death

Cabinet Secretary Andrew Charlton has reacted to US President Donald Trump’s claim that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is “dead”.

“That has very big implications for the regime and for the future of Iran – our thoughts are with the people of Iran,” he told Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell.

“We hope that this leads to a regime that provides them with the peace and stability that they deserve.”
