Authorities are warning that extreme heat in South Australia will persist as temperatures peaked above 40 degrees in parts of the state on Thursday.
An extreme fire danger warning is in place for the state’s Mid North region.
The state government is warning residents to prepare to evacuate.
Conditions are expected to ease by the weekend.
