Total fire ban placed across Victoria
Heatwave conditions have triggered a total fire ban for Melbourne, Geelong and Victoria’s Wimmera, South-West and Central districts on Wednesday.
Strong north-westerly winds are expected to develop over parts of the state, in what will be a dry and hot day.
Maximum temperatures are expected to reach into their 40s in Victoria’s north and south.
The CFA is reminding a total fire ban means no fire can be lit in the open air or allowed to remain alight for 24 hours.
