Greg Lynn is appealing his conviction and 32-year jail sentence for the murder of Carol Clay, with his lawyers arguing the sentence is manifestly excessive. Lynn was acquitted by a jury over the death of Carol’s camping companion Russell Hill in a split verdict last year. If the appeal is successful, arrangements for a retrial could be complicated since Lynn cannot be tried again for Russell Hill’s death.
