‘Pissed off my home’: John Cena shared regret over his China-Taiwan scandal to Joe Rogan
Hollywood action movie star and former pro-wrestler John Cena has expressed regret over his handling of the China-Taiwan controversy.
Cena’s comment came when he appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast.
The controversy arose in 2021 when the former wrestler referred to Taiwan as a country while promoting the Fast and the Furious movie ‘F9′.
The scandal gained traction in China and across the world as Cena promoted the Film in Mandarin.
Following the backslash, the former wrestler issued an apology in Mandarin.
Cena spoke on how he regretted apologising to China because it “pissed off’ his home country, calling himself a patriot.
The former wrestlers vowed he would never speak Mandarin publicly again.
