Anika Wells engulfed in another expense scandal while using taxpayer funds
It has been revealed Communications Minister Anika Wells spent nearly $1,000 to have a government-funded car wait for her for seven hours while she attended the Australian Open in January 2023.
The Australian Financial Review claims Ms Wells spent $765 for a six-hour car hire while she attended the Magic Millions horse racing event in Queensland in 2024.
It adds to reports of her billing taxpayers $9,000 to fly her husband to multiple AFL grand finales.
Ms Wells has continued to defend the spending as being within the guidelines.
