Brazilian President Lula re-elected in tight race | ABC NEWS
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has claimed another term after besting Trump ally Flávio Bolsonaro in a run-off election.
Confirmation of the incumbent’s re-election by officials marked an end to a dramatic polling day, which was unexpectedly extended by two hours.
ABC Americas editor John Lyons says the White House has been watching the Brazilian election closely as the Trump administration looks for more allies in the Western Hemisphere.
