Aviation expert claims pilot ‘lost control’ on Hong Kong runway in crash which killed two

Sky News Aviation Expert Captain Byron Bailey discusses a cargo plane skidding off a Hong Kong airport runway, which killed two people.

According to news outlets, the Boeing 747 from Dubai veered off the runway after striking a car on the tarmac as it attempted to land before plunging into the sea.

All four of the flight’s crew members have escaped unharmed.

“At first it appeared … they had struck a vehicle halfway down the runway,” Captain Beily told Sky News Australia.

“Later news suggests that they lost control about halfway down the runway and veered off and went through a fence, and hit a vehicle.”
