Cape Verde makes history qualifying for FIFA World Cup

Cape Verde has qualified for next year’s FIFA World Cup for the first time after beating Eswatini 3-0. The island nation is set to become one of the smallest countries to participate in football’s showpiece event. The 2026 men’s FIFA World Cup will be held in the US, Canada and Mexico in June and July next year.
