Senior meteorologist at BOM Dean Narramore says a high pressure system hanging out in the Tasman Sea will bring heavy rain and storms to Queensland and New South Wales over the weekend and into next week.
Severe storm activity lashed parts of outback and central Queensland this week dumping 130mm to Middlemount and 30-50 millimetres to the Highlands and Central Coalfields.
