PM to decide on Australian astronaut’s trip to space
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is set to make a decision in the next 24 hours on whether or not the government will fork out to send Katherine Bennell-Pegg to space.
The South Australian has received the backing of former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd but the mission comes with a $100 million price tag.
Accepting the European Space Agency’s offer would mark the first Aussie-flagged astronaut to board the International Space Station.
