Ukraine condemn US move to import Russian diesel | ICC reject US sanctions: an attack on rule of law
US President Donald Trump says he has reached a deal with his Russian counterpart, to supply diesel to the United States. It’s a sharp reversal of US policy which, only last month, put into place sweeping sanctions against Russia aimed at reducing its income from energy exports. The move has been condemned by Ukraine’s President Volodymr Zelensky, who described it as a gift to Vladimir Putin.
In what’s been described as an unprecedented move, the US has imposed sweeping sanctions on the International Criminal Court after one of its former judges, Navi Pillay, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has accused the court of unfairly targeting Americans and threatened to dismantle it ‘piece by piece’.
