A coronial inquest into the 2021 Hillcrest Primary School jumping castle tragedy that claimed six young lives continues in Tasmania, with day two focusing on the state’s health system response. North West Hospital’s Executive General Manager Paula Hyland is scheduled to give evidence about her agency’s response to the accident, which occurred when a weather event launched a jumping castle 16 metres into the air. The inquest follows emotional victim impact statements from grieving families, including Georgina Burt, mother of Zane Mellor, with further hearings scheduled for November and early next year.
