crane collapsed onto a moving vehicle, igniting a fire, and left at least four people injured in the Brickell area of Miami, Florida, on Monday morning, September 14, authorities said.

Footage from Stefan Chomiak shows a white BMW ablaze after being crushed by the crane on Brickell Bay Drive, with emergency services responding and bystanders watching from a safe distance.

According to Miami Fire Rescue (MFR), the woman driving the BMW saw the crane collapsing and reversed her vehicle “slightly enough” that it landed on the front of the vehicle, allowing her to escape.

The crane also fell on top of a construction box with two workers inside, MFR said. Those two victims, aged 27 and 29, were extricated by fire crews.

The 47-year-old crane operator “jumped out of the crane when it was tipping over” and was also transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, they added.

Two parked vehicles were also struck by the crane, but they were unoccupied at the time.
