AI rivals join forces calling for slowdown in technology development | Indonesian ship rescue

Some of the biggest names in tech have come out in support of slowing down the development of artificial intelligence, fearing it could soon get out of control.

The CEO of Anthropic, supported by Elon Musk and OpenAI’s Sam Altman, are calling for AI companies to allow more time to manage the risks, which include autonomous cyberattacks and the development of biological weapons.

The move was sparked by an Anthropic employee, who resigned over fears that AI expansion would lead to human extinction in the immediate future.
