Optus outage left dozens unable to get through to Triple Zero | ABC NEWS
Victoria’s health minister has described Friday’s Optus outage that left dozens of callers struggling to get through to emergency services as “incredibly disappointing and unacceptable”.
“It’s the third time that we’ve have had an outage from either Optus or Telstra in the last 12 months,” Ingrid Stitt said on Saturday.
“So we will be urgently taking up those issues with both the telcos, but also the Commonwealth.”
Victoria Police has conducted dozens of welfare checks after the outage led to some customers in Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory experiencing intermittent call dropouts from about 1:30pm.
