US envoy attends talks in Ukraine amid renewed push for peace
US President Donald Trump’s envoys say they feel good about peace talks in both Kyiv and Moscow.
Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff are hoping to find a diplomatic solution to end the four-and-a-half-year Ukraine war.
The envoy first held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin before heading to Kyiv for a meeting with Ukraine.
This was the US envoys’ first visit to Kyiv, which President Volodymyr Zelensky hopes will help them see the war through Ukraine’s eyes, not just Russia’s, in their renewed push for peace.
Talks lasted for three hours and ended with positive comments but no breakthrough.
