A passenger has described the moment flames appeared to shoot from one side of a Sydney-bound Qantas flight soon after take-off.
Qantas says the plane experienced a suspected engine issue after leaving Queenstown on Saturday. The flight was diverted to Christchurch and the plane is temporarily grounded.
Qantas flew engineers over to New Zealand to inspect the aircraft as part of an investigation into what caused the issue.
