Premier announces $1.5bn road spending blitz | 7NEWS
Premier Ben Carroll has announced over $1.5 billion in road infrastructure spending this week, including a $237 million extension of the Geelong Ring Road (Bellarine Link) from Surf Coast Highway to Barwon Heads Road. The election promises target key growth areas in Melbourne’s north and west, including Greenvale, Meadow Heights, Roxburgh Park, Epping, Seabrook and Wyndham Vale, which pollsters identify as vulnerable to One Nation. Leaked Labor Party election research reveals the party is testing voter responses to policies including emergency department upgrades, continued half-price public transport and a $40 toll cap.
