Trump: Iran war is ‘small potatoes for us’ as conflict grinds on
US President Donald Trump has called the War with Iran, now in its sixth month, “small potatoes” in what is his administration’s latest bid to play down the conflict ahead of crucial midterm elections.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump added the US may strike Iran’s Pickaxe mountain “very soon”, which is a heavily fortified site located near Iran’s Natanz uranium enrichment facility and hosts two deeply buried tunnel complexes.
The six-month-old war — in which 18 US troops and thousands of Iranians have died — has reached a stalemate, with Iran disrupting shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
