Hundreds of workers from the retail, fast food and warehouse sectors have rallied outside New South Wales state parliament demanding an additional public holiday. They are calling for a ‘Community and Family Day holiday’ to be introduced in September. New South Wales currently has fewer public holidays than any other Australian state, with only eleven days.
