Former 7NEWS presenter Kay McGrath is urging Australians over 45 to get their heart health checked after losing her fiancé, Richard Moore, to the silent killer. Heart Foundation representative Derek Chew said education was crucial, noting that symptoms can often go unnoticed or be mistaken for other conditions. The Heart Foundation recommends a 20-minute heart health check with a GP for Australians over 45, covering family history, lifestyle, blood pressure, weight and waist measurements, with blood tests checking cholesterol and diabetes risk.
