Terrifying social media footage captures the chaotic moments an emotionally disturbed, knife-wielding woman was shot dead by police in the heart of New York City’s Times Square on Monday, August 31, 2026. According to law enforcement sources, the suspect launched a sudden stabbing rampage near West 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue around 4:30 PM, leaving one woman dead and a man fighting for his life with severe injuries. When NYPD officers confronted the suspect, she brandished two large kitchen knives at police and deflated taser attempts before charging toward officers, forcing one to open fire. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed the incident is not terrorism-related and that the weapon was recovered.
