‘Devastating’: Greens slammed for ‘weaponising’ Nepal floods

News24 host James Macpherson condemns the Greens for using the devastating Nepal floods to push their climate agenda, as families await news on 42 missing Australians.

“The Greens have never yet seen a tragedy they didn’t believe they could transform into an opportunity,” Mr Macpherson said.

“Take the devastating floods in Nepal. Forty-two Australians are missing. But even as the search for those lost souls gets underway, Christine Milne has weaponised the disaster against coal and gas.

“It’s a remarkable theory. Not least because Nepal sits between China and India, two of the world’s largest emitters. Yet somehow Australia, thousands of kilometres away, is being summoned before the climate tribunal.

“Forty-two Australians are missing. Families are waiting for answers. And before the rescuers have finished searching, the climate preachers have already climbed into the pulpit.”
