Trump orders Lake Ontario be renamed Lake America, suggests another name change is on the cards
US President Donald Trump has ordered that Lake Ontario — a body of water shared by the US and Canada — be renamed “Lake America” amid a trade war with the nation.
Trump denied the change was sparked by the escalating feud, saying he had thought about it for a long time.
Trump previously renamed the Gulf of Mexico as the “Gulf of America” shortly after beginning his second term as president and today suggested that the Pacific or Atlantic Oceans could be next.
