Council rejects Lakemba Mosque call to prayer application | 7NEWS

Canterbury-Bankstown Council has rejected an application by the Lebanese Muslim Association to broadcast the call to prayer from Lakemba Mosque once a week on Fridays for 15 minutes. Council staffers determined the proposed broadcast would be too loud and disturb too many residents beyond the immediate vicinity of Halden Street. The mosque association can either abandon the application or commission independent acoustic auditors to reassess the noise impact.
