Luigi Mangione has dramatically admitted to stalking and shooting dead Brian Thompson, the CEO of a US healthcare firm on a New York street.
In a Manhattan courtroom, Mangione admitted he contacted UnitedHealthcare while posing as a shareholder to confirm Thompson’s attendance at a New York investors meeting, then shot him on 4 December 2024. Prosecutors are now seeking a life sentence at his federal sentencing hearing, which is scheduled for 18 December 2026.
