‘That’s bonus’: Cassini mission space data still used for astronomy research

ANU Astrophysicist and Cosmologist Dr Brad Tucker discusses the Cassini space probe and the invaluable data the mission has provided to scientists.

“When you build these missions, you kind of build them for one or two goals,” Dr Tucker told Sky News Australia.

“Then, if you get a longer operation out of it … that’s bonus.

“There has been this kind of continuity of people studying the data still coming out of the Cassini probe … its mission did end a few years finally.”
