Man who attempted to assassinate Trump sentenced to life in prison
A man who attempted to assassinate Donald Trump in 2024 has been sentenced to life in prison.
Ryan Routh was found guilty of attempting to assassinate the US President on his golf course in West Palm Beach in September 2024.
Prosecutors argued for a life sentence, saying Mr Routh was completely “unrepentant”.
During closing arguments, he reportedly spoke in third person and strayed off the main topic as he talked about the war in Ukraine and his intention to buy a boat.
