Rising cost of living and housing prices have left 70% of Australian parents concerned about their children’s ability to finance their future lives, according to a recent YouGov survey. Money expert Sarah Megginson from Finder has written an instruction manual called ‘How to Raise Rich Kids’ to help parents teach financial literacy to their children. The approach emphasises tangible money lessons through cash-based pocket money, involving children in household financial decisions, and teaching them the real cost of living in an age where digital transactions and Buy Now, Pay Later schemes make spending increasingly frictionless.
