Freshwater turtle numbers soar following ‘hugely successful’ breeding season
After four decades of decline, freshwater turtle numbers are growing following a hugely successful breeding season.
Adult turtles were paired up last spring and offered idyllic conditions and a diet to inspire successful breeding.
The turtles are housed in a specialised space at the Australian Reptile Park in Somersby, New South Wales.
