‘Epidemic proportions’: Study finds high-strength cannabis prescribed every four minutes

Sky News host Freya Leach discusses a research study by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) concluding that a doctor prescribes high-strength cannabis to patients every four minutes.

“New research by Australia’s health regulators estimates there are around 1 million Australians using medicinal cannabis,” Ms Leach said.

“A study conducted … found that eight medical practitioners issued more than 10,000 scripts each for the highest strength THC products over just a six-month period.

“Every four minutes a doctor is issuing high-strength cannabis scripts … this is of epidemic proportions.”
