El Jannah eyes global expansion in major migrant success story
From a single store in western Sydney in 1998, charcoal chicken giant El Jannah is set to go global after securing international funding with private equity group General Atlantic, which has valued it at hundreds of millions of dollars.
The injection will allow it to quadruple its footprint in the country from 50 to 200 stores in coming years, with the possibility of expanding internationally.
El Jannah CEO Brett Houldin says the founders of El Jannah, Lebanese immigrants Andre and Carole Estephan, are “over the moon”.
