More than a quarter of the contestants in the Sydney to Hobart yacht race have retired due to rough conditions as the battle for line honours intensifies.
The Hong Kong-registered SHK Scallywag is in the lead after overtaking Master Lock Commanche, which held the first spot for a long period in the race.
Meanwhile defending line honours champion LawConnect sustained damage to its main sail.
